🌿 A Heart of Gratitude This Labor Day

Labor Day is often seen as a simple long weekend — a chance to rest, gather with family, or enjoy the last bit of summer. But it’s also a beautiful reminder of something deeper: the value of our work, the strength God gives us each day, and the blessing of being able to use our hands, our minds, and our hearts for good.

In Colossians 3:23, we’re encouraged to “work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”   That verse feels especially fitting today. It reminds us that every task — big or small — becomes meaningful when we offer it to God. Whether we’re working, resting, creating, caring for our families, or building something new, He is the One who gives us the ability to do it.

Today, as we pause from our routines, we can take a moment to thank the Lord for the strength He provides. For the jobs we have, the skills we’ve learned, the opportunities we’ve been given, and even the challenges that have shaped us. None of it is possible without Him. Every blessing, every open door, every moment of growth comes from His hand.

Labor Day is also a chance to reflect on kindness — the kind we give and the kind we receive. The world may feel busy and complicated, but compassion still matters. A gentle word, a patient heart, a helping hand… these are the things that make life feel a little softer. And when we offer them in Jesus’ name, they become acts of worship.

So today, let’s rest in His goodness. Let’s celebrate the work He’s allowed us to do. Let’s thank Him for carrying us through every season. And let’s remember that no matter how the world changes, God remains faithful, steady, and present.

May your Labor Day be peaceful, uplifting, and filled with gratitude for the One who makes all things possible.
