Keeping Our Eyes on the Lord in Every Moment
Updated: Oct 8

There are days when life feels heavy, when memories rise up and we start replaying moments we wish we could change. I’ve had those days, the ones where I look back and wonder where I made mistakes, where I held on too tightly, or where I tried to carry burdens that were never mine to carry.
But even in those moments, God gently reminds me: “Lift your eyes.” Not to the past. Not to the things I cannot undo. But to Him, the One who heals, restores, and makes all things new.
Throughout my day, I find myself pausing, taking small moments to breathe and seek Him. Before I ask for anything, before I bring Him my worries, I try to sit quietly and remember who He is: The Lord God Almighty. Jesus, our Savior. The Holy Spirit, our Comforter.
None of them can be truly found unless we open our hearts. Unless we let go of the things we cling to, even the things we don’t want to release, and trust that the Lord is working in our lives in ways we cannot always see.
Letting go is hard. Letting God take over is harder. But it is also the most beautiful act of faith.
When we surrender our fears, our regrets, our old wounds, and even our pride, we make room for His peace. When we ask for forgiveness, honestly, humbly, openly. He meets us with grace that never runs out. He doesn’t turn away. He doesn’t keep score. He simply loves us back into wholeness.
And in that love, we learn to love one another. To show compassion. To offer kindness. To live with gentleness even in a world that often forgets what gentleness looks like.
Today, I’m choosing to keep my eyes on the Lord. Not on what I’ve lost. Not on what I wish I could change. But on the One who is changing me, slowly, faithfully, lovingly.
May this be a reminder for anyone who feels overwhelmed or unsure: God is working in your life. Even now. Even in the quiet. Even in the places you haven’t healed yet.
Open your heart. Ask for forgiveness. Let Him guide you into the peace only He can give.
